Each time a page on your site does not load, an error message shall be displayed to the site visitor. Because there are different errors, there are different pages that will display, but what is standard for all of them is that they're generic and almost certainly will have practically nothing that resembles the layout of your Internet site, which can be frustrating for any site visitor. That is the main reason why hosting providers have introduced a function known as Custom Error Pages. For a variety of different errors, website visitors will see your custom content, which can be informative or humorous, depending on your personal preference, and that will match the overall design and style of your Internet site, so the pages will not seem like they are not part of your site at all. You could use this option for a variety of errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).

Custom Error Pages in Cloud Hosting

If you buy a cloud plan from our company, you shall be able to set customized error pages for your sites easily, since this feature is a part of all of our packages. Once you have created the files and uploaded them to your website hosting account, you can check out the Hosted Domains section of your Hepsia Control Panel and click on the Edit button for the particular domain or subdomain. In the pop-up that will be displayed, you will see drop-down options menus for all four types of errors and for each of them you could pick an Apache default page, a generic page from our system or a custom page. In case you select the 3rd option, you should just input the URL to the file that you've uploaded then save the change. Another way to set customized error pages is to create an .htaccess file inside the domain or subdomain folder and to include a few lines of code in it. If you don't have prior experience or if you are just uncertain how to do that, you may simply copy and paste the code from our Knowledge Base article on that subject.
